We had some great summer Wellington weather for our first 11th of the month event in 2010... OK, it was cool, but at least it wasn't raining.
There were three of us this time, TruthMama, J, and yours truly. This was our second appearance in Cable Car Lane on Lambton Quay. We were well equipped with a variety of DVDs in plastic cases and sleeves, and some smart AE911Truth flyers. Wellington is still a bit quiet this time of year, but despite that we had, if not our best event, one that at least came close, distributing at least 350 DVDs and flyers. We hung our new super-sized and very eye-catching AE911Truth banner. We were there between 4 and 6 pm.
Shortly after I arrived I engaged a group of 6 young people who gathered to have a group smoko right across from me. One or two of them were 9/11-aware, but the others weren't. After a brief discussion they offered to help out for a few minutes which broadened our demographic for a while.
One of them said that he had heard that the Holocaust didn't actually happen and that he had disturbed his parents by bringing this up. I encouraged him to be a little more thoughtful in how he discussed this topic with others. I told him that while we don't know the exact number, there is no doubt that there were millions of people killed by the Nazis in what we now call The Holocaust. I encouraged all of them to research the other holocausts that occurred at that time and afterwards, including the mass murders in the Soviet Union and China, and the current holocaust in the Middle East. I said that rather than deny The Holocaust it is better to say that there have been far too many holocausts, and that they don't deny any of them.
Whew! I never know what I'm going to run into out there.
Each time we meet more and more people who are aware of 9/11. Several people mentioned the successful event at Te Papa last November. The interview that Richard Gage had with Kim Hill came up once. We agreed that Richard handled himself very well in the interview, especially in exposing Kim's psychological block that prevents her from examining the evidence with an open mind.
We had some other good encounters, and may have recruited at least one new member. Our core group has grown and strengthened over the last year and a half. It's still an uphill battle, but we have gained some good traction in the battle for truth.
If people in Christchurch weren't droning laborers, then I'd be trying the same thing. We might do something at some point, because RG was on TVNZ after all, but I have other things to worry about atm (like having no income).
